Okinawa Raise is a low-speed electric scooter from Okinawa which is also the most affordable offering from the Gurugram-based manufacturer. It is mainly suitable for short-distance urban commuting. The raise boasts of a simple styling featuring a conventional headlamp, Taillamp, and turn indicators along with a blue backlit LCD instrument cluster. It also gets a 19-liter under-seat storage space. An Okinawa Raise is a perfect option for first-time riders, college-goers, and elderly people. Okinawa Raise is discontinued now.

Battery, Range, and Motor

The Okinawa Raise scooter is a 250 Watt BLDC motor that draws power from a 48V/24Ah VRLA battery. While the top speed of the scooter is limited to 25 kmph, its full-battery range is claimed to be around 60-65 kmph. The battery gets fully juiced up in four to six hours and it can carry a maximum load of up to 150kg.

 Brakes, Wheels, and Suspension

For a pleasant ride, The Okinawa Raise rides on 10-inch alloy wheels at both ends which are shod with tubeless tires. Damping duties are handled by hydraulic telescopic forks up front and a dual shock absorber at the rear. Stopping power comes from drum brakes at both with E-ABS (electronic assisted braking system).

Display and Connectivity System 

The Okinawa Raise electric scooter gets an aggressively styled headlamp, Tail lamp, and turn indicators along with a blue backlit LCD instrument cluster. It has a digital Odometer, Speedometer, Tachometer, and regenerative braking system. It has an LED bulb headlight and bulb front signal light. It has a front storage box and low-battery indicator. It also gets a 19-liter under-seat storage space.

Warranties on Okinawa Raise

The Okinawa Raise gives you 3 years of Vehicle Warranty, 1 year of battery warranty, and 36 months/30,000 km of Motor warranty (whichever is earlier). Typically scooters run around 6000-8000 km a year, so chances are that they won’t need a replacement for 6-7 years.

Subsidies and TAX Exemption

Okinawa Autotech has announced that it has slashed the prices across its electric scooter range in India, thanks to the revision in the FAME II scheme. The company’s decision comes as a result of increased electric two-wheeler subsidies by the Government in the said scheme in recent times. The prices have been slashed in the range of Rs 7,000 to close to Rs 18,000 with effect from June 2021.

License and Registration

You need no license or Registration in India for scooters that have their top speed capped at 25km per hour or have a motor of 250w or lower. However, you do need to driver’s license to ride the okinawa Raise electric scooter. You also needed to wear riding gear, irrespective of it being an electric or conventional two-wheeler.
